Belgravia Information Guide The London Guide takes you hand in hand through the exclusive royal neighbourhood of Belgravia, located in between South Kensington and Victoria.
Overview
Belgravia is the area situated in between Hyde Park to the south and Buckingham Palace to the east. Since it was developed at the beginning of the 19th century, Belgravia has always been one of London's most notable addresses and remains this way today, with some of the most expensive real estate in the world.
The area is considered a highly fashionable district, characterised by grand London white stucco homes. Compared to some of its neighbours, Belgravia is somewhat more conservative, with elegant English garden squares such as Eton Square and Belgrave Square in between the high end stores of both Sloane Square, Chelsea and Knightsbridge.
Local Sights
The London Museums of South Kensington are all walking distance - the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Hyde Park, the Royal Albert Hall are all within the vicinity. Belgravia is beside the shopping area of Knightsbridge, which includes the international fashion stores of Sloane Street and the department store Harrods.
London Guide Hints & Tips
Belgravia is a great to shop away from the highly tourist areas of Piccadilly. Sloane Square, the "Londoners" shopping area is located in the area, with more independant fashion retailers down the huge Kings Road in Chelsea.
